About Me

Jerry Furnell is the author of the electrifying Camilla Lee series. He brings to the page an avenger with a difference… a shy, screwed up schoolgirl turned spunky, gritty, kick-ass undercover operative with attitude to burn.

Jerry lives with his family and pets on acreage in a home nestled within a mini-rainforest in the glorious Gold Coast Hinterland, Queensland, Australia. His spouse and mixed race teenage daughter are the inspiration behind his stories. He draws his ideas from books and movies and world events that interest him. Like many authors of thrillers, his imagination often harbours dangerous ideas. The page is where they come to life.

Jerry has written two novels (coming soon) and is working on a third. In another life, he wrote and published a textbook on DIY Termite Inspection for Homeowners. In 2021 Jerry entered Unleashing the Tiger in the Page Turner book awards and made the shortlist. As a child, he was skinny and regularly bullied at school, which led him to take up Judo. Graduating from Cavendish Road High, he joined the RAAF to become a pilot. Later he attended university in Brisbane where he studied to become a teacher. It wasn’t to be, and he moved on to work for William Collins Publishers.

Jerry has travelled extensively. London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vegas, Vancouver, and Kathmandu, to mention but a few.

Jerry’s grandmother Winifred once said, ‘Books are like friends.’ Since then, not a day has passed when he hasn’t picked up a book and become lost between the pages. When not reading or writing, he paraglides, kite surfs, and once a week curses at a little white ball that flies anywhere except the fairway.
